Maesteg Celtic U14s 29 v 5 Tondu U14s

On Sunday the U14s entertained Tondu on Garth Park. This was going to be a tough test for the boys and they knew it! The first half was very pleasing, with the forwards dominating at the breakdown and the backs were playing some lovely football. Apart from the one try that Tondu scored, it was all Celtic! And at the break the boys were 19-5 up.

The second half was a lot closer. The boys really had to dig deep, with a few injuries creeping in and some tired legs, the young Celts held on for a fantastic win! The team is now really starting to jell, which is great to see! There were some outstanding performances from the boys, with everyone playing a big part in the win. I have to mention our centres Harvey and Seb who were phenomenal! The pack was excellent and Nathan was voted MOM with a standout performance at number 8.

It was great to have another new starter on the field. Ryan played his first game on the wing and he didn’t look out of place. This was yet another great signing for the 14s, after another winger Keiron came down to us a few weeks back and has settled in really well!

Scorers

Jamie        2 tries

Nathan      2 tries

Harvey      1 try

Callum      2 conversions

Big effort from everyone on Tuesday to make training, we’ve got Bridgend Sports on Sunday and we really want to be winning that one!!
