Maesteg Celtic 2nds got their season under way against local rivals Maesteg Harlequins, in the local Bridgend District League at Llangynwyd Field.

In ideal conditions both sides played with plenty of aggression and endeavour with the Celtic pack leading the way with strong performances from Jack Price, Josh Hatton, Rhys Bevan Jones and Mark Wilkins , supported by Dale Cook, Tyler Buckley , and Mike Coombes,

Behind the scrum Halfbacks Nathan Edwards ( Captain) and Rhodri Thomas controlled the game well, with Scott Wilkins, Gavin Joseph, Simon Booth, Lee Sainsbury and Zac Collier all running well.

Mark Wilkins and Rhys Bevan Jones scored tries for Celtic, with Rhodri Thomas kicking one penalty and one conversion, and Peter Jenkins responding with a try for the Quins. Celtic ran out worthy winners 15 points to 5
