Maesteg Celtic U8s v Cefn Cribbwr U8s at the Liberty Stadium

It was a massive day for the Celtic youngsters. Forget the Ospreys vs Scarlets match the biggest game of the day was at half time!! Celtic under 8s played Cefn Cribbwr in front of 14,000 fans. The young Celts smashed the young Cefn team scoring every time they had the ball and won the game 7 tries to 0.

Yet again Ioan was the standout player as normal both in attack and defence. Tomos and Kerion both had good games. Tomos with good running, to score a number of tries and Kerion by jinking his way through the would be tacklers. Gethin’s  strong running proved too much for the defence, but the try of the day came from Kayden who was passed the ball over his own try line where he beat the would be defenders and went one way then back the other, beating defenders as he went. While holding the ball in 2 hands he threw a dummy and changed direction and created space where a gap opened up and he shot through to score in the corner.

Rhys was awarded Osprey man of the match for the day with a brilliant display both attack and defence on the Liberty Stadium in front of a 14000 screaming fans.

Celtic squad for the day were:-

Kayden,

Caelan,

Louie,

Rhys,

Tomos

 Ryleigh,

George

Coaches Dan Maccan and Dai Lloyd were overjoyed with the performance.
