Maesteg Celtic U7s 10 Nanty U7s

Maesteg Celtic U7s are number one in the valley,

It was local derby day for Celtic’s youngest team, with today’s visitors Nanty coming to Garth Park.  Both teams put up an excellent display of attacking rugby and a joy to watch and be a part of. Rugby in the valley was the true winner here today and with there now being 4 under 7s teams in the valley. The game is in a great place.

Celtic came out on top in one of the best games of the season.  Oscar opened the scoring and went on to get 4 tries during the game.  Ioan was not to be out done and grabbed 3 tries himself. The other scorers on the day were Kayden with a short range finish, George who sneaked in at the corner, and Tomos who beat 3 defenders on his way to touching down out wide.

The Celtic defence was better than in recent weeks, with the line holding well and rushing up giving the would be attackers no time on the ball. This resulted in mistakes which Celtic made the most of all day long.

Celtic scorers were

Oscar               4

Ioan                 3

Kayden            1

George            1

Tomos             1

Oscar picked up the player of the week trophy with his strong running in and out gaps all day. No one could put a hand on him.

A great thank you should also go to the Celtic coaches who have been working very hard with the boys all season and have had some great results. The coaches are Dai Lloyd, Dan McCann, James Dixon and lately Liam Healy all of whom have put in time with the boys

Next up we are at home to Kenfig Hill next Sunday and will be hoping to keep this winning run going
