CELTIC U12s SO CLOSE AT TONDU

Maesteg Celtic U12s produced their finest ever performance on Sunday. Tondu, who are arguably the strongest side in the district, were given an almighty fright when Celtic dominated the game. Celtic were held up over the line 3 times in a very frustrating 0-0 first half.
In the 2nd half both backs and forwards were asking questions of the home team and eventually got some reward when lightning winger Ethan Morris went over in the corner after gathering a chip kick, to make it 5-0 to Celtic The support the boys had off the touch line was superb and the boys responded on the pitch. With just 5 minutes to go, Tondu centre Cai Clark went over to make it 5-5 and the conversion was kicked to make it 7-5 Tondu. With two minutes to go Corey Thomas thought he won the game for Celtic but the ball got hit out of his hands to deny a great team try! So Celtic's 7 match winning run came to an end, but you wouldn't have thought it the way the supporters cheered the boys off the pitch at the end.

A great competitive game of rugby!

Final score Celtic 5 Tondu 7
