WRU Winter Festival 2nd Series

Sunday Maesteg Celtic young guns looked to blow the winter cob webs off and get back to winning ways,

They took the short trip to Park y Derwin Bridgend to play in another WRU Winter Festival brought in by District D Hub officers to make sure players had rugby games over the cold and wet winter months.

Maesteg Celtic had a strong squad both in size and in talent and were able to field 2 teams, (which is a first for the team) Coach Dan McCann and new 7s Coach Rhys took one team while Dai Lloyd and James Dixon took the other. Both teams went through the day undefeated winning all games,

A brilliant effort was made by all. It was freezing cold and fair play the boys tried their hardest with everything and did really well.

Arlo - played brilliant as always, with some nice tries along the way.
Harri - super running as always and tries again.
Harris - nearly scored from his own try line and was an ice cube by time we                         finished our games.
Louie- brilliant again today, went forward to meet the player with the ball. Super                  running also.
Thomas - fabulous in attack and defence in both games.
George – (the wing king) Held that wing position all day today and they only managed to get around him once. Well done George!
Tomos – (the stepper) Some great tries from him today and a super effort in                           defence.

It was nice to see the things that we have been working on in training before Christmas are still in their rugby brains.
