Maesteg Celtic took a bare XV to play at top of the table Tondu. Their pack was at its best and took on the Tondu forwards. Tondu opened the scoring with a converted try but Celtic closed the gap when experienced scrum half Ian Herbert snuck over from the base of a scrum. Tondu increased their lead from a penalty before Celtic evened the score when after a series of forward drives hooker Neil Sainsbury drove through the defence to score in the corner. Tondu took control of the score board with 2 fine unconverted tries before Celtic MoM Nathan Healey received the ball from a forward drive to score. Tondu then scored a penalty and an unconverted try before number 8 Mathew Jones burst through a tackle to run 20metres to touch down.
