Maesteg Celtic 2nds extended their unbeaten run to 11 games when they visited division one Llanharan. The home team were short of players and used some of their youth team which resulted in the game beging with passive scrums which cancelled out some of Celtic’s strength. Even so the front five of Jay Whelan, Morgan Reeves, Dale Cook, Nathan Jenkins and Mark Wilkins were dominant. The back row of Nathan Adams and Rhys Bevan Jones were ably led by Captain Mathew Jones. Veteran scrum half Ian Herbert distributed the ball well. Celtic centres Gavin Joseph and Neil Arthur combined well and the back three of Sam Mines, Nathan Edwards and Gareth Blackwell were strong in defence.
Celtic scorers in this exciting match were second row Nathan Jenkins, wing Sam Mines and Man of the Match centre Neil Arthur. Outside half Rhodri Thomas kicked 1 conversions and wing Gareth Blackwell kicked a conversion and a penalty.
