Maesteg Celtic 2nds entertained Aberavon Quins at Llangynwyd playing fields for a rare league fixture. Conditions were very difficult and Celtic played uphill into the wind and rain in the first half. Celtic opened the scoring when outside half Rhodri Thomas took a quick tap penalty near the Quins line and scored. Celtics second try was a solo effort by Alun Blackwell who followed up a kick ahead and used his footballing skills to beat the full back to touch down. Wing Aaron Williams scored the third when he went across field and ran around the defence to touch down in the corner. The Celtic pack pressed the Quins defence and was rewarded when second row Mark Wilkins powered through to touch down. Outside Half Rhodri Thomas kicked two conversions. Scrum half Neil Sainsbury was awarded Man of the Match.
